My sister and I are going to build a 7' wide, 2' tall little mini quarter pipe on the back concrete underneath the glass awning. She and my wife are going to take my truck to go buy the wood here in a min.

It's going to be 2' because any taller and I'd risk smacking my head against the roof.

Should be fun. stremph, elbash, either of you guys know offhand what sort of transition radius I ought to use to end up with a mellow, fun ramp that's not too mellow? It being that short, and all ... I've seen a lot of 3 1/2' high ramp plans with a 6'-ish radius. I'm wondering if I should stick with that, or tighten it up a little (5'? 5 1/2'?)

If it works out good, we'll probably build another one and face 'em off, poor man's mini-half.

Update: The transition templates are cut - we went with a 5 1/2' radius. It looks like a nice curve to me.

The mellow quarter from the wedge is pretty much what I had in mind. I love that little quarter.

Of course, this is a bit shorter.

We clamped the tranny templates together and sanded it out so it's all smooth and even, she's going to frame it out while I'm at work today. She already has it basically framed out, a few of the the 2x4 crosspeices are in, the notch for the coping is there with the holes drilled. We have to get the right anchor bolts and wedge anchors, we're only going to have holes drilled in the coping on the side we attach it. It's gonna be sweet.
